Job Purpose:
The Security Officer is responsible for leading assigning training and evaluating the activities of security officers within the Emergency Department. To assist with the functions of physical and personal security and safety measures of members patients staff and visitors. Protect staff and property from theft or damage or persons from hazards or interference including the potential for violence in the workplace. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Preserves order and may enforce regulations pertaining to personnel visitors and premises.
The Security Officer reports to the Assistant Security Manager. The Security Officer will be required to work flexible hours and manage various projects according to the needs of the Hospital. They regularly communicate and provide coordination with healthcare staff emergency services and provide emergency assistance as needed. The Security Officer will have frequent interactions with patients visitors volunteers and staff on a regular basis. They must ensure all incident reports are recorded as needed.
