Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

Student Paint Crew will assist St. Olaf staff painters over the summer months painting campus buildings (both interior and exterior).

Transferable Skills:

Self-starter.

Must have the ability to work independently and on teams.

Comfortable working with hand tools and modest physical labor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The position requires commitment for the entire summer season.

Will complete paint projects as directed by the supervisor of on-campus buildings (inside and outside).

Must wear appropriate footwear.

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

At least three months of experience working with the St. Olaf paint crew or equivalent experience required.

Experience with both interior and exterior painting required.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching kneeling/crawling stooping twisting/pivoting climbing/balancing reaching overhead grasping/handling pushing/pulling lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs. driving and operating hand tools to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise chemicals wet or humid conditions indoors proximity hazards and heights or cramped quarters as well as rare exposure to respiratory factors and vibrations to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required to perform some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
