POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The position of Solutions Engineer III is for the purpose of overseeing the Bellevue School Districts data and developed application solutions to ensure effective use in improving student achievement and staff productivity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Leads the day-to-day operations of data and developed solutions
Ensures exceptional customer service is provided by Data and Solutions team. Monitors feedback and support ticket requests.
Mentors and trains Solution Engineer(s)
Develops modifies and maintains programs and web-based applications. Monitors the operation of applications and responds to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding.
Gathers and reviews user requirements for new applications and performs analysis design implementation installation and training related to new applications developed and/or acquired
Provides technical advice and support to users. This includes data analysis and correction acceptance testing support and problem solving.
Works collaboratively to proactively identify areas for improvement and enhancement. Keeps up to date on technical advancements and assesses them for viability at the District.
Maintains the integrity security accuracy and confidentiality of all data
Develops and maintains technical documentation
Coordinates medium projects through creating project documents and overseeing technical tasks
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Reports directly to and is supervised by the Director of Enterprise Applications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Required:
Bachelors Degree in related field
Four years of programming related experience
Preferred:
Prior experience in a public education setting desired
Allowable Substitutions:
Additional years of directly related experience may substitute for the educational requirements
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
Valid Washington State Drivers license
KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
Demonstrates proficiency in:
o Visual Studio
o Object-Oriented Programming (C#)
o SQL Server
o Web-based development
Knowledge of software design debugging testing documentation and software development process
Knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
Knowledge of FERPA and the protection of student data
Knowledge of Ed-Fi Data Standards Technology and Operational Data Store
Strong knowledge of relational database design query optimization and systems analysis
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
Demonstrates project management skills including group organization material preparation and task management
Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills commensurate with the position
Ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision
Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
Shows a strong willingness to be customer service oriented

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry and push pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
CTSA Professional Technical salary classification 8 $132980 to $139979 annual salary (starting at $132980 annual) 40 hours per week for a 260-day annual assignment.
Medical dental vision long-term disability and life-insurance eligibility is based upon 630 hours worked within a school year. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems. Other benefits include vacation and paid holidays.
