An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate EAL Teacher to join a thriving Upper Middle School. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator with a strong background in supporting English language learners and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
The Role
Teach English as an Additional Language (EAL) within the Upper Middle School
Deliver engaging well-planned and differentiated lessons that support language acquisition and academic progress
Support students in accessing the wider curriculum through targeted language development
Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behaviour
Contribute to the wider life of the school and its continued development
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
Teach up to 22 lessons per week within a 30-period timetable
Work collaboratively with subject teachers to support EAL learners across the curriculum
Monitor and assess student language development providing clear feedback and targets
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
Requirements
Minimum of 510 years teaching experience including EAL/ESL teaching
Experience working with Upper Middle School age students
Experience with international curricula (VCE CAIE IB IEB or similar)
A recognised teaching qualification (Teaching Degree or Degree with PGCE or equivalent)
A relevant qualification or specialism in EAL/ESL TESOL TEFL or Applied Linguistics
Outstanding English language proficiency
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to a new environment with cultural sensitivity
Desirable
Experience supporting EAL learners in mainstream subject classrooms
Experience with student management systems (iSAMS SIMS etc.)
Google Educator Level 1 certification
Previous teaching experience in Southeast Asia

Average class size: approximately 15 students
A clear enhanced DBS and/or police check is required
