The Role:
The Vice President of Human Resources will play a critical role in the successful launch of our Chicago flagship location. This position will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition employee relations and compliance particularly in a unionized environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in casino openings and a proven track record of managing union relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the successful Ballys Chicago flagship opening and ongoing operations ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the HR efforts including workforce planning recruitment training and onboarding of staff across all levels and departments.
- Oversee the talent acquisition strategy to attract recruit and retain top talent
- Manage and strengthen relationships with labor unions ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and fostering a cooperative work environment. Serve as the primary point of contact for union negotiations and grievances.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that emphasizes employee engagement and retention.
- Implement initiatives that support diversity equity and inclusion throughout the organization.
- Oversee performance management systems that align individual and team goals with organizational objectives
- Ensure compliance with all federal state and local employment laws and regulations as well as internal policies. Proactively identify and manage HR-related risks.
- Streamline HR processes and systems to improve efficiency utilizing data analytics to inform decision-making and enhance HR performance.
- Partner with senior leadership across departments to understand business needs and provide strategic HR solutions that drive organizational success.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field; Masters degree or HR certification (e.g. SHRM-SCP SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the hospitality or gaming industry specifically in casino openings.
- Proven experience managing union relationships and navigating collective bargaining processes.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices labor laws and regulations relevant to the gaming and hospitality industries.
- Exceptional communication interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Experience in change management and employee engagement initiatives
