- Part-time hours ranging from 1636 hours per week depending on business needs
Pay
- Starting pay: $22.00 per hour with potential for increases based on experience
Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll for employees while ensuring compliance with federal state and local regulations. This role supports employees by answering payroll-related questions maintains payroll records and works closely with HR and Finance to ensure correct compensation and deductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Review and verify timecards pay rates overtime bonuses and deductions
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws tax regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
- Process new hires terminations pay changes and garnishments
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and support audits as needed
- Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and confidentially
- Coordinate benefits PTO and leave deductions with HR
- Support year-end payroll processes including W-2s and reporting
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred)
- 13 years of payroll or administrative experience
- Experience with payroll systems (ADP Paychex Workday UKG or similar)
- Knowledge of payroll laws taxes and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience processing multi-state payroll
- Familiarity with timekeeping systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience partnering with HR or accounting teams
