Lower School Assistant Teacher PT

Charlotte Latin School seeks a Upper Grade Assistant Teacher. This is a part-timenon-benefits eligible position that will begin in August 2026.

Description

• Assist two lead teachers with daily classroom tasks.
• Assist and/or lead small group work for enrichment and reinforcement.
• Assist in carrying out a variety of age-appropriate and theme-related activities.
• Assist the lead teacher in leading supervising and providing classroom structure.
• Provide on campus supervision for play areas to ensure childrens safety and learning.
• Supervise lunch every day.
• Provide support and supervision of off-campus excursions.
• Maintain an organized and efficient classroom.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in a related field.
• Previous experience in grades 3-5 preferred.
• Interest in teaching Mathematics; Experience with Math in Focus preferred.
• Experience teaching in an independent school preferred.

Working Conditions and Environment

• Intermittently lift carry push and pull up to 25 pounds.

• Continuously see sit balance grasp and have repetitive use of arms wrists hands and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.

• Frequently talk and hear.

• Intermittently stand stoop bend twist crouch kneel crawl walk climb stairs and ladders operate foot and hand controls squeeze and reach above shoulders.

• Exposure to dust chemicals fumes flammables grease dirt stacked materials electrical equipment machinery low to medium noise levels and moderate indoor temperatures of heat and cold.

• Long or odd hours as needed.
