IP Protection Manager

Hexagons Autonomous Solutions business area is looking for aIP Protection Manager to join our legal and compliance team and manage our IP protection activities reporting to our VP Business Area General Counsel and Compliance Officer.

The Location:This position is based inCalgary Alberta MortonIllinoisor Tucson Arizona.

AsIP Protection Manager you willbe responsible forthese activities:

• Manage our internal patent process shepherding invention disclosure from internal submission through patent grant with our external counsel
• Liase with our internal engineering research and development and accounting/finance teams and external counsel
• Become thoroughly familiar with our patent portfolio and corporate strategy and keep the portfolio aligned with the strategy.
• Monitor the activities of competing parties in the marketplace and provide regular summaries to management.
• Keep current on technology developments within Hexagon ASs space.
• Work closely with product and engineering management to ensure appropriate IP protection for product lines and key technology areas.
• Monitor spending and plan activities within an annual budget

Must Have:

• . in engineering applied mathematics or applied physics and >5 years experience or
• . in engineering applied mathematics or applied physics and >7 years of experience.
• Project management experience > 2 years experience
• Effective communicator both verbally and in writing with audiences of varying technical knowledge

Nice To Have:

• Strong understanding of positioning and localization
• Able to comprehend descriptions of technical methods and do comparative analysis
• Geomatics specific knowledge
• Experience with patenting technology
• Programming ability - be able to read C/C or Matlab code
• Be able to read schematics
