Job Summary
JOB TITLE:Maintenance Substitute
REPORTS TO:Director of Maintenance
WORK YEAR/DAY:As Needed
SALARY GRADE: Classified Salary Schedule - XIV
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Maintenance Substitute is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the building and grounds as needed either due to absences or special projects. The Maintenance Substitute is also responsible for maintaining tools and equipment in good repair and assuring they are secured at the end of the work schedule.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans offices classrooms restrooms corridors windows walls floors and furniture.
- Uses/operates electric sweepers floor machines wet/dry vacuums and other equipment.
- Follow usage instructions/dilution ratios of cleaning chemicals and other custodial products.
- Informs the Director of Maintenance when supplies or cleaning equipment needs replenishing.
- Informs the Director of Maintenance when maintenance projects beyond their abilities and/or time constraints are needed or anticipated.
- Assures the buildings are locked and equipment is secured.
- Assures that unnecessary heat air conditioning and/or electricity is not utilized.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- If under 18 parental/guardian permission required
- Reliable punctual and able to follow directions
- Previous custodial experience is a plus but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time thought the day
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting to 25 lbs
