Role Objective

The Commissioning (Cx) Engineer is the ultimate guardian of data center this role you are responsible for the systematic process of verifying and documenting that all facility systemspower cooling fire suppression and securityperform as intended and in accordance with the design intent and the owners operational requirements. You will lead the facilitys transition through the Five Levels of Commissioning ensuring a zero-defect handover to the operations team.

1. Technical Commissioning Leadership (L1L5)

• Level 1 & 2: Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for critical assets (Generators UPS Chillers).

• Level 3: Manage system start-up and pre-functional energization.

• Level 4: Conduct Functional Performance Testing (FPT) to verify individual system responses.

• Level 5: Lead Integrated Systems Testing (IST) including Black Start and Pull the Plug simulations to ensure the facility maintains 100% uptime during total utility failure.

2. Documentation & Quality Control

• Develop and review Commissioning Scripts Method Statements and Site Observation Reports (SORs).

• Maintain a detailed Issues Log and manage the Punch-list to ensure all technical deficiencies are remediated before handover.

• Compile the Final Commissioning Report and ensure all As-Built documentation is accurate.

3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Coordinate with MEP contractors equipment vendors and design consultants to align on testing schedules.

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for the clients Quality Assurance (QA) teams during the testing phases.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• Experience: 5 years of experience in commissioning or testing mission-critical facilities (Data Centers Power Plants or Hospitals).

• Certifications:

  • KSA: Mandatory registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).

  • UAE: Society of Engineers (SOE) membership or Abu Dhabi/Dubai Municipality certification is preferred.

  • Industry: Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or Uptime Institute ATS/ATD is a plus.

• Technical Knowledge: * Deep understanding of Load Bank testing thermal imaging and power quality analysis.

  • Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE 90.4 TIA-942 and Uptime Tier Standards).

    Preferred Attributes

• Experience with Liquid Cooling or High-Density AI infrastructure commissioning.

• Strong leadership skills to command a war room during complex Integrated Systems Tests (IST).

• Willingness to work flexible hours during critical testing windows (often at night or during weekends to minimize grid impact).
