UI/UX Designer - Immediate Requirement (Contract) Sandton/Hybrid

We are seeking experienced UI/UX Designers to drive the development of a high-quality mobile application within a fast-paced software engineering this role you will be responsible for creating user-centered digital products that align with business goals and integrate seamlessly with emerging technologies. You will work hands-on across the full design lifecycle-from research and interaction design to high-fidelity prototyping and visual execution.

Location: Sandton Johannesburg (On-site 4 days per week)

Contract Period: 01 May 2026 31 July 2027

Please note this role is for an RFP and has a 50% probability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Execution: Produce high-quality UX and UI deliverables including wireframes interactive prototypes and final visual designs.
• Mobile & AI Integration: Execute design solutions specifically optimized for mobile platforms and AI-driven user experiences.
• Design Systems: Apply and contribute to the evolution of established design systems to ensure consistency accessibility and scalability.
• User Research & Insights: Assist in conducting user research (interviews surveys usability tests) and translate findings into personas journey maps and intuitive user flows.
• Interaction & Visual Design: Define information architecture and interaction models to create clear polished and intuitive user interfaces.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners Developers and Solution Architects within an Agile environment to ensure features meet both user needs and technical feasibility.
• Testing & Iteration: Validate designs through A/B testing and usability studies iterating based on data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: 5 years in UX UI and Product Design preferably within a digital product or consultancy environment.
• Mobile Expertise: Proven track record of designing complex high-performance Mobile Applications.
• AI Design: Experience or strong interest in designing for AI-driven features and emerging technologies.
• Tooling: Expert-level proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools.
• Core Competencies: Strong grounding in user-centered design principles accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design.
• Soft Skills: Proactive mindset excellent presentation skills and the ability to articulate design rationale to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Tertiary qualification in Design Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry is highly advantageous.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end problem-solving and execution across both UX and UI disciplines.

Work Environment

• On-site Requirement: 4 days per week on-site in Sandton.
