Reporting to the Senior Manager Radio Operations and Resources you will play a central role in ensuring seamless operations across the entire Audio and Radio division (ICIPREMIÈRE ICIMUSIQUE and Radio-Canada OHdio).
Your mission is to oversee the assignment and development of production teams with a balanced focus on organizational goals and the human element. Leveraging your expertise in workforce logistics you will agilely navigate short- and long-term planning recruitment and backfill co-ordination for all content teams (including producers researchers and on-air talent). You act as the vital link between leaderships strategic goals and day-to-day operations ensuring administrative rigour and full process compliance.
Key responsibilities:
Implement short- and long-term workforce strategies by forecasting needs and aligning hiring with the Audio and Radio divisions strategic goals.
Plan and manage production and content team assignments to meet the divisions evolving needs.
Use your leadership and persuasion skills to gain buy-in from stakeholders ensuring operational needs are met and services remain uninterrupted even during non-traditional hours or under tight deadlines.
Work with various departments across Radio-Canada to facilitate employee mobility optimize resource sharing and encourage cross-functional teamwork.
Oversee internship programs (including maintaining academic partnerships) and create professional development plans to build a sustainable talent pipeline.
Lead the hiring of new talent by implementing equity diversity and inclusion (EDI) strategies and ensuring new hires are successfully onboarded into the production environment.
Assist management in forecasting labour needs and proposing agile solutions to complex assignment challenges.
Contribute to enhancing assignment systems and maintain meticulous administrative records (hours worked annual leave etc.) to ensure process compliance.
This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per depatmental guidelines.
What You Bring:
University degree in business administration media and communications human resources or a related field.
Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience ideally within a unionized environment.
Prior experience in production co-ordination or workforce logistics an asset. A combination of comparable education and experience will be considered.
Keen interest in and quick grasp of content production and the unique dynamics of a studio environment.
Exceptional people skills with a proven ability to build bridges and influence diverse personalities.
Ability to remain effective and composed under pressure within a fast-paced evolving media environment.
Familiarity with collaborative tools (Google Suite Excel and scheduling software) with an aptitude for learning new systems.
Ability to shift seamlessly from high-level strategic planning (EDI development) to immediate hands-on action (logistics and emergency management).
Availability to address urgent operational needs in a 24/7 high-movement environment.
Excellent command of spoken and written French.
