The Role

As a Systems Engineer you will support the development and integration of complex systems that underpin the UKs underwater test and evaluation capability including systems deployed into live operational environments at BUTEC.

Day-to-day youll contribute across the systems engineering lifecycle supporting requirements capture system design integration and test activities and working closely with software hardware and project teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the integration of software hardware and firmware across complex systems
• Contributing to systems engineering activities across requirements architecture integration and test
• Working closely with project software integration and verification teams
• Supporting engagement with stakeholders to capture and manage system requirements
• Assisting with integration verification and validation activities
• Producing and maintaining high-quality systems engineering documentation

Essential experience of the Systems Engineer:

• Experience working as a Systems Engineer or within a systems engineering environment
• Requirements engineering and requirements management
• System design integration and test activities
• Applying systems engineering best practice
• Ability to work across multiple projects and disciplines

Essential qualifications for the Systems Engineer:

• Degree or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Malvern Farnborough or Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) sites with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.

These facilities enable QinetiQ to conduct a wide range of research testing and development activities that support both military and civilian applications helping to advance technology and support national security.
