What Youll Do
Process Engineers function as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on fabrication processes and associated procedures. They perform duties and tasks that are vital to ensuring the reliability and integrity of the nations nuclear weapons stockpile.
This position will primarily support precision sheet metal fabrication operations with secondary responsibilities involving machining and other manufacturing operations. These operations include cutting forming heat-treating welding and more.
Process Engineers develop maintain and lead implementation of new component fabrication processes and changes to existing processes. Process Engineers perform process studies and evaluations and lead efforts to resolve technical issues that may impact quality efficiency capability and capacity. They participate and advise in training to operations personnel and maintain technical content in work control documents such as process descriptions and/or product specifications. They ensure fabrication processes produce high quality products that comply with customer specifications and requirements.

Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or Material Science/Metallurgical Engineering
- Sheet metal manufacturing experience of at least 5 years.
- Experience in the following: sheet metal cutting welding hydroforming CNC and manual machining 3D modelling or other related skills and technologies.
- Experience participating in or leading continuous improvement efforts.
- Able to review and analyze data and use statistical process control techniques.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Will be required to interact and communicate clearly with skilled craft employees as well as technical personnel and management.
- Capable of performing complex technical assignments and independently applying engineering knowledge and experience.
- Able to interpret mechanical drawings and dimensional inspection results per ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
