Job Summary

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Field Supervisor Transmission & Substation with Hybrid Renewable Integration  for PMC for execution of EHV/UHV infrastructure projects (33kV765kV). This is a site-based contractual role responsible for supervising construction installation testing and commissioning activities for transmission lines substations (AIS/GIS) and renewable energy evacuation systems (solar wind BESS).

The role acts as the PMC representative at site ensuring EPC contractors deliver works in compliance with approved drawings technical specifications safety standards and project schedules while supporting seamless grid integration of hybrid renewable energy systems.

Core strength lies in on-site supervision of transmission and substation works with integrated renewable energy systems ensuring adherence to quality safety and engineering standards while maintaining project schedules and enabling seamless grid integration. The role contributes to safe compliant and timely delivery of hybrid energy infrastructure projects aligned with AECOMs operational excellence and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision Transmission & Substation

  • Supervise execution of:
    • Transmission lines (up to 132kV765kV) foundations tower erection stringing (conductor & OPGW)
    • Substations (AIS/GIS) equipment erection busbar systems cable laying and bay installation
  • Ensure works are executed as per approved drawings method statements and project specifications.
  • Monitor contractor manpower equipment deployment and productivity.

2. Renewable Integration & Grid Connectivity

  • Oversee integration of solar PV wind farms and BESS systems with transmission network.
  • Monitor installation and commissioning of:
    • Pooling substations / switchyards
    • Step-up transformers bays and protection systems
    • Interconnection and evacuation infrastructure (OHPL & UG cables)
  • Support grid synchronization commissioning and compliance with CEA/Grid Code requirements.

3. Technical Compliance & Engineering Interface

  • Ensure implementation of approved engineering drawings BOQs and vendor submissions.
  • Interpret SLDs layouts schematics and stringing plans for accurate execution.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams for resolution of site-level technical issues and deviations.
  • Ensure compliance with CEA/CTU/STU regulations IS/IEC standards and utility requirements.

4. Quality Assurance & Inspection

  • Ensure adherence to QAP/FQP/ITP requirements across all construction and installation activities.
  • Verify:
    • Tower erection stringing and conductor sag compliance
    • Equipment installation (GIS/AIS) cable laying and termination quality
    • Testing and commissioning readiness
  • Support inspection punch point closure and NCR management.

5. Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to HSSE standards and zero-incident safety culture.
  • Monitor:
    • Permit-to-work systems
    • Safe working practices for EHV/UHV systems
    • Proper grounding clearances and working at height safety
  • Support safety audits incident investigations and toolbox talks.

6. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track project progress against approved schedules (L2/L3).
  • Maintain:
    • Daily progress reports (DPRs)
    • Site logs inspection records and photographic documentation
  • Identify delays risks and bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.

7. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with EPC contractors OEMs QA/QC HSE teams and client representatives.
  • Facilitate smooth execution across civil electrical and I&C interfaces.
  • Support client inspections audits and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Act as the primary site-level liaison for PMC.

  • Site Progress Monitoring & Reporting

Tools & Systems

  • MS Office (Excel Word reporting tools)
  • Basic AutoCAD drawing interpretation
  • Exposure to project reporting tools (Primavera/MSP preferred)

Qualifications :

Education

  • Full-time Diploma in Electrical / Electrical (Power) / Electrical & Electronics / Civil Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in:
    • Transmission lines (up to 132kV765kV) and/or
    • Substation construction (AIS/GIS) and commissioning
    • Renewable energy integration projects (solar/wind/BESS preferred)
    • Stringing Operations (Conductor & OPGW)

Technical Skills

  • Interpretation of SLDs layouts and engineering drawings
  • Sagging & Tensioning Techniques
  • Cable Laying & Termination (MV/HV/EHV XLPE)
  • Knowledge of Grid Code CEA IS/IEC standards
