About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse (CN)to join our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU)team at St Vincents Private Hospital Northside. This is a permanent fulltime opportunitywithin a fastpaced highacuity perioperative environment.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager Anaesthetics/PACU the Clinical Nurse PACU provides advanced clinical nursing careand clinical leadership supporting the delivery of safe highquality postanaesthetic recovery care. The role contributes to patient safety staff support service coordination and continuous quality improvement across PACU and Procedural Services.
You will work collaboratively with Anaesthetists Surgeons Theatre staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and service excellence.
Your key responsibilities:
- Provide advanced clinical nursing care within PACU
- Demonstrate clinical leadership and role model best practice nursing care
- Support and mentor nursing staff including skill development and clinical guidance
- Participate in clinical coordination escalation and patient flow management
- Contribute to quality improvement risk management and patient safety initiatives
- Work collaboratively across Perioperative and Procedural Services

Things that work for us:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 35 years recent experience in PACU
Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment and recovery skills
Strong communication leadership and interpersonal skills
Sound knowledge of NSQHS Standards infection prevention and risk management
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS)certification
Postgraduate qualification in PACU perioperative nursing or working towards describable
Experience acting or relieving in senior/lead PACU or shift coordination roles desirable
