Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to serve as a key technical owner of our Microsoft 365 environment and broader productivity and security ecosystem. This role blends deep platform expertise with a security-first mindset to ensure our M365 E5 environment is well-governed secure and optimized for how our teams work.

You will partner closely with IT security and business stakeholders to manage identity endpoint and cloud collaboration infrastructure and play a lead role in migrations automation and platform improvements. What Youll Do

• Administer and optimize the full Microsoft 365 E5 suite including Exchange Online Teams SharePoint OneDrive and related services
• Manage identity infrastructure using Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory including SSO conditional access MFA and lifecycle management
• Oversee endpoint device management through Microsoft Intune with particular focus on Apple (iOS/macOS) and Android device enrollment compliance and configuration policies
• Configure and manage Microsoft security capabilities including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) Microsoft Defender for Identity (MDI) Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA) and Microsoft Purview
• Lead and execute migrations from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 including mailbox calendar Drive and user data migrations
• Manage enterprise email infrastructure including Exchange Online configuration mail flow rules and email security protocols (SPF DKIM DMARC)
• Develop and maintain highly scripted repeatable processes to automate administration provisioning and lifecycle tasks
• Support data governance and compliance initiatives using Microsoft Purview including DLP policies sensitivity labels and retention policies
• Collaborate with security and IT teams to enforce RBAC least-privilege access and compliance standards across the M365 environment
• Document configurations runbooks and processes to support operational consistency and knowledge sharing

What You Bring

• Deep hands-on experience administering the Microsoft 365 E5 suite in an enterprise environment
• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory for identity and access management
• Strong experience with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management with demonstrated expertise managing Apple (iOS/macOS) and Android devices
• Strong experience configuring and managing Microsoft security capabilities including MDE MDI MDCA and Purview
• Proven experience leading Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migrations including planning execution and post-migration support
• Strong understanding of enterprise email management and email security protocols (SPF DKIM DMARC)
• Experience with user and data migrations across cloud collaboration platforms
• Demonstrated ability to develop scripted automated and repeatable processes for M365 administration
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Bonus Points

• 2 years of experience with Microsoft Defender Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Microsoft Purview
• Microsoft 365 Administration Certifications
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for M365 automation
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 HIPAA or ISO 27001
