We support these young people with a wraparound crew of specialist teachers teacher aides youth support and family support staff. In this full-time permanent role youll play a key role in the establishment of the Mount Isa Next Generation Strong program providing holistic case management to young people aged 10-16.

You will make a difference by:

  • Case planning and 1-1 mentoring with young people who have been in contact with the justice system forming case plans based on their individual goals and their education employment housing and cultural needs
  • Facilitating activities designed to increase young peoples social and emotional wellbeing life skills and education attainment
  • Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with young people and their families and helping connect them to community and culture
  • Identifyingwhere additional assistance and external services are required providing appropriate informationsupportand referrals

These roles require:

  • Demonstrated skills knowledge understanding and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and families families at risk and young people involved in the youth justice system
  • Degree or Diploma in a related field or significant relevant experience
  • Other skills and experience as outlined in the position description linked below
