Job Summary
Contractor Role: Graphic Design Consultant
Location: Hybrid (Candidates must be local to the Kansas City Missouri Metro)Job Type: Contract
Department: Member Services and Communications
The consultant will:
- Layout and design a complex data-heavy annual report. This includes cover and theme ideation layout and several rounds of revisions with key stakeholders.
- Produce assets for major initiatives including but not limited to digitaland print booklet outlining priorities media response resources and various branded materials.
- Assist the Design Team with event-specific reports presentations and digital graphics etc.
- Select photography both stock and from photo libraries for use in presentations publications and on the website.
- Redesign and modernize existing consumer resources
- Design Microsoft Word letterhead and PowerPoint presentation templates.
- Use design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign etc.).
- Create visual assets (logos illustrations and infographics)
- brainstorming sessions and contribute to ideation
- Prepare and present design drafts to internal teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Graphic Design Visual Arts or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a designer with a strong portfolio
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of layout typography color theory and branding
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with UI/UX design and related
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Animation or motion graphics experience is a plus
