Position Summary

The Nurse Manager II OR will lead operations and clinical excellence in the Operating Room overseeing a 24/7 operational environment. This role involves managing care delivery directing nursing staff and teams implementing best practice models and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining clinical expertise and supervisory oversight.

Must-Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire
  • Basic Life Support certification required at hire
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in patient care delivery
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in business operations clinical healthcare or directly related field
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role
  • Main OR acute care hospital experience

Primary Functions

  • Lead implementation of best practice models and patient care delivery systems across assigned locations
  • Delegate tasks related to investigation and resolution of patient/family/member concerns regarding patient care and services
  • Facilitate collaboration with physicians outside healthcare providers and healthcare team members to achieve optimal and safe patient care
  • Proactively monitor resource needs and ensure appropriate assignment and utilization in clinical areas
  • Manage use and maintenance of equipment supplies and medications
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients and employees
  • Maintain clinical expertise and provide clinical supervision and competency oversight
  • Delegate tasks and duties aligned to scope of practice and perform clinical duties as required
  • Collaborate with Nursing Clinical Practice to ensure compliance with Nursing Practice Act The Joint Commission federal state and local requirements
  • Create and advocate for developmental opportunities; build collaborative cross-functional relationships
  • Solicit and act on performance feedback; work with leaders and employees to set goals and provide coaching
  • Hire train and develop talent; strategically evaluate talent for succession planning
  • Oversee implementation of organizational change best practices and industry trends
  • Foster open dialogue and promote collaboration within and across teams
  • Manage designated units by translating business plans into tactical action items
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure products and services meet requirements while aligning with departmental strategies
  • Manage hospital administrative functions including recruitment selection performance evaluation and management labor relations and training and development
  • Design continuous survey readiness activities and develop procedures for audit documentation
  • Lead development monitoring and control of departmental payroll and non-payroll budget
  • Develop strategic partnerships with physicians subject matter experts and service area leaders
  • Oversee highly complex work streams with large program impact
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and hold them accountable for performance
  • Assist in design of emergency preparedness programs and ensure current recovery plans
  • Lead project teams and monitor implementation and resource distribution
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality and safety of clinical practices services and operations
  • Hold staff accountable for maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Lead design and implementation of systems to evaluate and improve patient care
