We are currently looking to recruit a Jointer to constructmaintainand repair the electricaldistributionnetwork. This is an important role within the district where youll provide key skillsand knowledge to readythe network for an electric future and to help meet the challenge of NetZero across more than 100000km ofnetwork and 30000 substations benefiting more than 3.5mhomes and businesses across Scotland Englandand Wales.
All training Tools and PPE will be provided when working towards Company Authorisation andonceAuthorised the role will include a paid Standby rota typically on a 1:6 rotation but this mayvary.
Whatyoullbe doing
Day to dayyoullensure that all site works are carried out safelyin accordance withcompanypolicy andsafety rules and in an efficient manner. This may include acting as the nominatedperson in charge of safety forthe duration of works attended.
Youllundertake; cablehead changes cablehead and substation fuse replacement fault locationgeneratordeployment / connection jointing work and issuing / receiptingappropriate safetydocuments all asappropriately authorised. As well as occasionallyassistingother trade groupsin the company.
You will be able to plan and carry out work in a safe manner always adhering to health andsafety procedureswith and ability to work proactively on own or as part of a team with aconfident and enthusiastic attitude.
We will expect a proven attention to detail and able todemonstrategood oral and writtencommunicationskills whilst delivering outstanding customer service and essential services24/7/365 that make a difference tolocal people and communities.
Whatyoullbring
We will look to you to have demonstratable experience and understanding of jointing testingand faultfinding. Experience working within a utilities business is preferable but not essential.
You should also havesound knowledge of health safety and environmental legislation andexcellent communication skills tocommunicate effectively with colleagues and customers as anon-site representative of the company.

Employed currently or historically as an electrical cable jointer at one or more of LV HV EHV (minimum)
