As a Traffic Management Professional (Fish and Wildlife Technical Coordinator) in Sauvie Island Oregon you will provide support to Sauvie Island Wildlife Area and the West Region. These duties include:

• Manage traffic

• Coordinate checkpoint and traffic management issues

• Interact with public

• Prepare checkpoint organize signs and make repairs

• Write weekly reports

• Coordinate with OSP and Sauvie Island Fire Dept. on human safety issues and observed violations

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Eighteen months of experience in the care of livestock agricultural research and experimentation monitoring game or wildlife or farming AND three years of wildlife experience in a wildlife program. (Two years of fisheries or related habitat work experience will count toward this experience).

-OR-

Option 2: An Associates degree in Wildlife Technology or Agriculture AND three years of wildlife experience in a wildlife program.(Twelve months of fisheries or related habitat work experience will count toward this experience);

-OR-

Option 3: A Bachelors degree in Wildlife Science Agriculture or a closely-related Bachelors degree with at least 45 quarter (30 semester) hours of biological/ecological coursework AND one year and six months of wildlife experience in a wildlife program. (Six months of fisheries or related habitat work experience will count toward this experience);

Desired Attributes

• Experience in traffic control and safety management

• Experience performing field operations including equipment setup and site readiness

• Experience preparing written reports

• Experience providing customer service and interacting with the public

• The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%
