The Global Process Engineering Authority Robotic Process Automation (RPA) will partner with the Global Process Engineering Leader (GPEL) and cross-functional stakeholders to design develop and deploy enterprise-grade RPA software solutions across GE Gas Powers Global Supply Chain. This role serves as the organizational authority and subject matter expert for RPA technology and intelligent automation driving the automation of repetitive high-volume business processes including data collection workflow management and automated reporting to improve operational efficiency and accelerate GE Gas Powers digital transformation agenda.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in leading RPA platforms strong programming fundamentals and a demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into scalable maintainable automation solutions. Operating in a global matrixed environment this authority-level role will collaborate across manufacturing supply chain IT and finance functions spanning multiple regions and time zones to deliver measurable business value through intelligent automation.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Design & Development
Architect build and implement automation workflows and software bots using enterprise RPA platforms (UiPath Blue Prism Automation Anywhere)
Design scalable reusable automation components applicable across global manufacturing and supply chain sites
Integrate RPA solutions with enterprise systems including ERP MES and data platforms via APIs and system connectors
Process Analysis & Opportunity Identification
Analyze complex cross-functional business processes within Supply Chain and Manufacturing to identify evaluate and prioritize automation opportunities
Utilize process mining tools (e.g. UiPath Process Mining Celonis) to quantify inefficiencies and build the business case for automation
Gather and document detailed requirements from business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs
Testing & Deployment
Lead end-to-end quality assurance testing debugging and user acceptance testing (UAT) for all automation solutions
Deploy bots into production environments in accordance with GE Vernovas IT governance change management and cybersecurity standards
Manage RPA Orchestrator environments to ensure reliable scheduling monitoring and execution of deployed bots
Maintenance & Support
Monitor troubleshoot and continuously improve existing RPA solutions across the global automation portfolio
Manage SLAs and escalation procedures for critical production bots ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
Proactively identify performance degradation or process drift and implement corrective actions
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all RPA solutions adhere to enterprise cybersecurity policies data privacy regulations and IT architecture standards
Maintain version control and audit trails for all automation assets in alignment with compliance requirements
Serve as the global authority on RPA development standards naming conventions best practices and platform governance frameworks
Documentation
Produce comprehensive process documentation technical specifications solution design documents and user guides
Maintain up-to-date documentation to enable knowledge transfer audit readiness and global scalability of automation solutions
Pipeline & Portfolio Management
Maintain and prioritize an automation opportunity pipeline aligned with business value strategic objectives and resource capacity
Track and report automation KPIs including hours saved error reduction cost avoidance and ROI to senior leadership
Lead the development and maturation of the RPA Center of Excellence (CoE) framework and governance structure across the global organization
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with business analysts project managers IT architects and operational teams across global manufacturing supply chain and finance functions
Communicate project status risks and outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders including senior leadership
Partner with regional teams to support localization deployment and adoption of automation solutions across multiple geographies
Training & Enablement
Support upskilling and capability building of regional and functional teams in RPA tools and automation best practices
Act as the global subject matter expert and internal authority for RPA and intelligent automation technologies guiding strategic direction and technology selection
Coach and mentor junior team members and citizen developers participating in automation programs
Additional Requirements
Requires a solid knowledge of mathematics statistical methods engineering methods and other principles of science and physics.
Assist in the integration of automation and AI into manufacturing systems that support Next Generation Supply Chain migration globally across GE Vernova. These systems for example will include usage-based maintenance / condition-based maintenance / autonomous machine learning / automated resource dispatch / asset monitoring & reliability.
Engage design for SixSigma methodology (DFSS) including measuring existing machine capability analyzing process requirements and developing a strategy to maintain / improve process yield.
Deploy lean principles including Transformation Planning Value Stream Mapping 3P (Production Preparation Process) Total Productive Maintenance Standard Work Kaizen Problem Solving and Poka Yoke.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Systems or a related technical field
- Experience: 57 years of hands-on RPA development deployment and leadership experience in an enterprise environment
- RPA Platforms: Demonstrated proficiency with one or more enterprise RPA tools - UiPath Automation Anywhere Blue Prism or Pega
- Orchestration: Hands-on experience with UiPath Orchestrator or equivalent platform for bot scheduling monitoring and lifecycle management
- Programming: Proficiency in one or more languages including Python Java C# ; familiarity with scripting languages (VBScript PowerShell)
- System Integration: Strong understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP) relational databases (SQL) and enterprise system integration patterns
- Process Knowledge: Experience automating processes within Supply Chain Manufacturing Finance or Operations environments
- Project Delivery: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience delivering automation projects through a structured project lifecycle
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving communication and stakeholder management skills
- Global Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively across global cross-functional and matrixed organizations
- Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics
Technical Skills
- UiPath Advanced RPA Developer Certification or equivalent platform certification strongly preferred
- Experience with process mining and task capture tools (e.g. UiPath Process Mining Celonis or similar)
- Familiarity with AI/ML-augmented automation capabilities including document understanding computer vision natural language processing (NLP) and intelligent character recognition (ICR)
- Experience integrating RPA with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure AWS or GCP) and cloud-native services
- Knowledge of Power Automate SAP automation or other enterprise automation tools complementary to RPA
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI Tableau) to communicate automation performance and ROI
- Understanding of IT/OT integration concepts within manufacturing environments is a plus
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles as they relate to bot credentials data handling and access management
Leadership & Professional Skills
Proven ability to establish and operate as an organizational authority influencing strategy and standards in a cross-functional global environment without direct authority
Experience leading or establishing an automation Center of Excellence (CoE) or similar governance structure
Strong executive communication skills able to develop and present business cases KPIs and automation roadmaps to senior leadership
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities with strong organizational skills
Comfortable operating in ambiguous fast-paced environments with evolving business requirements
Lead initiatives of significant scope and business impact across global functions
Proven analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities
Industry & Domain Knowledge
Prior experience in manufacturing industrial or supply chain operational environments
Familiarity with GE Gas Power or broader GE Vernova business processes and systems is advantageous
Understanding of Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies as applied to process automation
Additional Requirements
Experience working in a global matrixed organization with stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones
Willingness and ability to travel 25-30% including potential international travel to GE Gas Power manufacturing sites
Strong self-starter with the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining alignment with global priorities
Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in requirements across diverse stakeholder groups
Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging RPA AI and intelligent automation trends and technologies
Travel Percentage: 25-30%
