Hourly Grade: Unauthorized Workers: $38.15Authorized Workers: $41.38 - $53.30Please note that contract duration may be subject to OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Early Help and Prevention Project is anchored in child welfare redesign with a focus on improving service delivery to the children and families we serve. Early help seeks to improve outcomes for children and youth address systemic discrimination reduce overrepresentation in child welfareand promote a shared responsibility to work across sectors to enhance child youth and family wellbeing and to keep families together. The aim of early help is to work in new creative ways to proactively reach the families who will benefit the most addressing all aspects of their well-being with timely interventions that work. Early help requires a multidisciplinary collaborative approach where we work with our community partners to ensure a child and their family can resolve their concerns without ever having to enter the child welfare system including supporting children and families from Black Indigenous racialized and other equity deserving communities and addressing systemic anti-Black to the Early Help Supervisor the Early help worker is a highly motivated individual who will provide prevention and early help services using least intrusive measures to enhance child youth and family well-being and to help keep families together and connected to their culture identity and community. The Early help worker will participate in case planning and wraparound service delivery to children youth and families. The early help worker functions as a member of the circle of care supporting our families. This involves working primarily with our at-risk families by providing intervention/ prevention services through education collaborating with community partners advocacy and awareness programs. The Early help worker will help build the larger strategy and will act as an ambassador for the organization with community position supports and contributes to the agencys Vision Mission and Values. All practice approaches are embedded in Diversity Equity and Inclusion anti-racism and Truth and Reconciliation strategies. With a focus on equitable outcomes for children youth and families and recognition of the historical and ongoing overrepresentation and disparities in RESPONSIBILITIESProvide plan and deliver early help services to families children and youth that is responsive to their needs and helps achieve family outcomes that will minimize the potential for child welfare intervention / investigation including delivering culturally responsive and affirming and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships by engaging families extended families and community support in all aspects of service delivery including those impacted by systemic work plans promote upcoming prevention with individuals in a way that empowers them to move towards a more holistic in case conferences to minimize duplication and ensure coordination of ability to engage stakeholders and build networks that are goal-focused and to think working with the diverse communities that are representative of the Peel Region and sensitivity to their unique culture experiences perspectives and -depth knowledge of the Peel community and Peel regions social services to provide helpful information regarding childrens services and other resources within the with family capacity building social justice advocacy and demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and continuous improvement including equity anti-racism and anti-Black racism and anti-oppressive to use Diversity Equity and Inclusion practices and reflect the philosophy mandate and operation of Peel CAS to all clients & the legislation and Ministry Standards and ensures that all necessary records files documentation and recording are initiated and carried out properly during all phases of a case and that all necessary documents are completed within required to assess risk and determine when further protection intervention is required while being mindful of the impact of bias and systemic inequities and disproportionality on duties as of Social Workor Master of Social Work degree from a recognized university andmusthave at least three years of child protection experience ORA Bachelor Degree from a recognized university in a related field and at least three years of child protection experience.A class G drivers license and daily access to a vehicle are professional community and/or lived experience working with African Black and Caribbean communities including children youth and families with demonstrated understanding of the impacts of systemic inequities anti-Black racism poverty and intergenerational trauma is considered an experience working withmale youth from marginalized or underserved communities including but not limited to Black Indigenous racialized newcomer and low-income ability to buildtrusting respectful and culturally responsive relationshipswith youth from diverse backgroundsAbility to work collaboratively with community partners families and service providers to support youth development and KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSGood verbal and written communication skills particularly with recordings and reportsProficiency in other languages is considered an assetSuperior skills in child welfare case management clinical assessment counselling and crisis interventionKnowledge of anti-Black racism and systemic barriers impacting racialized engaging children and youth using developmentally appropriate culturally responsive and racial traumainformed approaches including strong engagement skills with male identifying to value lived expertise family voice and community knowledge in service planning and deliveryHOURS OF WORK:9am-5pm Monday to Friday however working hours may vary and applicants must be flexible to work outside of standard office WE OFFERSemi-private hospitalization and prescription drugs coverageFlexible options for hybrid remote workEmployee Assistance PlanInteractive Employee Wellness ProgramsExtensive Training & Development opportunitiesIntroductory Webinars (WHMIS AODA Health and Safety)Generous Pension Plan through OMERS (part-time and full-time employees are entitled to enroll)Onsite GymStaff LoungeChild welfare is a rewarding career option that enables caring individuals to support the community and make a positive difference in the lives of children youth and families.
