Job Summary | Under direct supervision Student Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized in a variety of positions that typically require the use of manual clerical public contact and/or analytical skill. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Specific job duties are defined by the appropriate campus department. Under the supervision of the area coordinator the student assistant duties include but are not limited to: Assist Department and Deans Office on various projects or programs; General office duties such as providing an inviting clean and supportive environment for students answer phones and emails making copies etc.; Cleaning and operational assistance of College of Education Department & Deans offices; Support and assist with basic excel and accounting duties for the College Fiscal Analyst; Assist with basic marketing and student-centered social media outreach to the campus and beyond; Assist staff management and faculty with special projects; Other duties as assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications | Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty staff and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position. |
Required Qualifications | - Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
- Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated) or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
- In good academic standing (not on academic probation continued probation academic dismissal).
- Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills (writing sample will be collected during interview);
- Ability to interact and communicate professionally with students staff and faculty;
- Ability to manage multiple projects with ongoing interruptions with minimal supervision and with great attention to detail;
- Ability to use independent judgment critical thinking skills and analytical skills.
- Customer service experience;
- Students interested in a career in education;
- Undergraduate level student.
