Building OPS Access Service Assistant
Job Summary
The Library Assistant supports daily library operations by providing frontline patron services maintaining an organized and welcoming environment and assisting with collection and administrative tasks. This role plays a key part in ensuring a positive inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning creativity and community engagement.
Responsibilities
Duties:
- Maintain a safe and welcoming library environment by monitoring activity addressing noise concerns and verifying patron access at entry points.
- Assist patrons at the circulation desk with checking materials in and out managing reserve items and loaning equipment such as laptops.
- Keep the front desk organized and clutter-free while supporting library staff as needed.
- Contribute to collection maintenance through shelving shelf reading and shifting materials to ensure proper organization.
- Perform administrative tasks including scanning copying and handling incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Locate and retrieve materials using call numbers while navigating the library stacks efficiently.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning creativity and engagement.
- Collaborate with supervisors on projects to enhance library services and resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
