The maintenance specialist position will manage the wastewater treatment plant and oversee four sewer lift stations that operate all the sewer functions within the park. Class I Wastewater certification required after employment has started. This position supervises two full-time maintenance positions and seasonal maintenance employees under the direction of the Park Superintendent.

This position is based at Lake Charles State Park in Pawhatan AR.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Specialist provides essential support in managing the day-to-day maintenance operations within a facility or building complex. This role is focused on coordinating routine maintenance activities processing work orders and assisting in scheduling repairs and inspections. It is designed for individuals at the early stages of their maintenance management career who possess a foundational understanding of facility operations and are eager to learn and grow under the guidance of more senior team members.

Primary Responsibilities

Receive log and prioritize maintenance requests from internal teams or building in scheduling and tracking routine inspections repairs and preventative maintenance with maintenance personnel and external vendors to ensure timely completion of work calendars and maintenance logs to keep operations running on initial troubleshooting of minor facility issues and escalate complex problems as on-site support for small-scale maintenance tasks under accurate records of maintenance requests completed repairs and scheduled databases or computerized maintenance management systems with relevant to health and safety guidelines and ensure that all work is performed with periodic safety checks and contribute to maintaining a hazard-free work environment.

Knowledge and Skills

Familiarity with basic tools and equipment such as hammers drills and hand tools.A willingness to learn about electrical plumbing Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning and other systems relevant to facility to identify minor issues and determine practical solutions under the guidance of more experienced verbal and written communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with maintenance team to perform physical tasks such as lifting bending and walking on various surfaces which are common in maintenance duties.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in maintenance coordination or facilities management demonstrating expertise in handling complex maintenance projects.

Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications including years of experience and service does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management taking into consideration the employees demonstrated skills competencies performance workload responsibilities and organizational needs.

Licensure/Certifications
