About the Role
We are seeking aProcess Improvement Managerto sit at the intersection ofEPC domainexpertiseand AI system design. This roleis responsible fortranslating complex real-worldEPCand constructionworkflowsparticularlyengineeringestimatingprocurement andconstructionitem processesinto precise specifications that AI engineers can implement as high-impact agents.
You will work directly withconstruction professionals (estimators engineersproject managers)and software engineersto map how workactually getsdone today identify bottlenecks on the critical path and convert those insights intoclear testable AI agentspecificationsthat compress schedules and reduce execution risk.
This is not a theoreticalprocess roleit is hands-on workflow-level and outcome-driven.
Key Responsibilities
1. EPC Process Discovery & Mapping
- Decompose end-to-end EPC workflows with a focus onconceptualengineeringestimating detailed designlong-lead procurementcontractingand construction.
- Produceverygranular process maps swim-lane diagrams and value stream mapsthat reflect real executionnot idealized procedures.
- Identifyhandoffs rework loops decision gates data dependencies and critical path constraintsacross disciplines.
- Maintain a system-level view of how engineering outputs unlock procurementand construction activities
2. AI Opportunity Identification
- Analyze mapped workflows to pinpointschedule-critical and labor-intensive taskswhere AI can deliver immediate value.
- Prioritize opportunities based onschedule compressionfeasibilityrisk reduction and scalability(e.g. long-lead release acceleration engineering iteration reduction).
- Partner with technical teams to defineshort-term vs. long-term AI roadmapsaligned to EPC execution realities
3. Agent Specification & Translation
- Translate business workflows intoAI agent specifications clearly defining:
- Inputs (documents data constraints)
- Outputs (decisions deliverables recommendations)
- Triggers and dependencies
- Success metrics and acceptance criteria
- Ensure specifications are detailed enough for AI engineers to implementwithout domain guesswork.
- Explicitly document edge cases failure modes and human-in-the-loop requirements.
4. Stakeholder Validation & Iteration
- Review agent concepts and prototypes withstakeholders.
- Validate that agent behavior aligns with how EPC teamsactually workunder schedule pressure.
- Iterate specifications based on field feedback to ensure adoption and measurable impact.
RequirementsRequired
- Bachelors degree in Engineeringor equivalent
- 5yearsexperienceinbusiness process design operations analysis systems engineering or EPC project delivery.
- Strong working knowledge ofEPC workflows particularly:
- Engineering (conceptual detailed design construction drawings)
- Procurementand contractingstrategy
- Schedule and dependency management
- Proven ability to createclear structured process documentationfrom ambiguous real-world inputs.
- Expertwithprocess mapping tools(MiroLucidchart Visio or equivalent)and presentation tools (Powerpoint Prezi equivalent).
- Excellent communication skillsable to translate seamlessly betweendomain experts and technical teams.
Preferred
- Familiarity withLean Six Sigma BPMN or value stream mappingmethodologies.
- Experience working with or alongsidesoftware data or AI teams.
- Exposure todatacenter power generation or large industrial EPC projects.
- Comfortoperatingin environments where processes are evolving and not fully documented.
