About the Role

An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 2 physiotherapist to join the physiotherapy department. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high quality overall physiotherapy management to the rehabilitation patients of the Kew campus of St Georges Hospital. The role is also responsible for supervision of students Grade 1 staff and Allied Health Assistants and taking a leadership role within the department and other duties as directed/delegated.

Applications from current grade two physiotherapists or suitably experienced grade one physiotherapists will be considered. Relevant postgraduate qualifications would also be highly regarded.

Must have or be currently eligible for National Physiotherapist Registration.

Classifications for this position will be VB1 VB4 ($90235.60 - $103724.40 per annum).

Duties include

• Provide appropriate clinical management for all rehabilitation patients

• Assessment planning and treatment including education for all rehabilitation patients

• Communicate assessment and treatment outcomes to nursing medical and other Allied Health staff via documentation and handovers.

• Clinical supervision and teaching of physiotherapy students both undergraduate and postgraduate as required

• Develop and promote new initiatives regarding service provision

• Recent experience in and knowledge of physiotherapy management in an subacute health care setting particularly rehabilitation

• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

• Knowledge of and commitment to continuous quality improvement

• Experience with student supervision

• Superior written and verbal communication skills

The Department works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment treatment and a range of therapeutic services to optimise patient care and maximise function.
