Advantage Steel Fabrication of Saxonburg PA is looking for a full-time entry to mid-level Welder to weld and fabricate parts for bridges and buildings. As a welder at Advantage Steel you will have the ability to work hands on with structures that will be integrated into the infrastructure.

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with the opportunity to work extended hours as necessary to meet project needs.

ABOUT ADVANTAGE STEEL FABRICATION:
Advantage Steel Fabrication is recognized throughout the industry for its expertise in diverse steel fabrication offering complex fabrication CNC machinery cutting coping welding bending and other fabrication needs.
Advantage Steel Fabrication Shop fabricates structural components for construction projects that include Bridges Buildings Foundation Work Locks and Dams and other miscellaneous structures. Advantage primarily fabricates Steel and Stainless-Steel structures.

Job Summary of Welder:
Advantage is seeking a skilled Welder to join our this role you will be responsible for welding cutting and grinding materials while ensuring high-quality workmanship. You will also operate forklifts and overhead cranes to safely move materials throughout the shop. This position offers the opportunity to work with multiple welding processes and grow your fabrication skills in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities of Welder:
-Perform welding cutting and grinding on various metal components
-Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to transport materials
-Utilize welding processes such as FCAW (Flux-Cored) SAW (Submerged Arc) GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG)
-Read and interpret blueprints prints and weld symbols
-Maintain quality standards that meet or exceed company and customer expectations
-Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
-Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently

Qualifications for Welder:
-2-5 years of welding or fabrication experience required
-Ability to work in a code-driven welding environment (or willingness to learn)
-Experience with plasma cutting or torch cutting steel
-Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and weld symbols preferred
-Willingness to learn additional fabrication equipment (saws CNC drilling press brake)
-Strong teamwork and communication skills
-High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/technical school preferred

Work Environment for Welder:
Shop environment with regular use of welding equipment and material handling machinery

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee and Team Members without proper safety precautions. This position may require working at heights in confined spaces around heavy equipment and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. Team Members will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies due to these safety risks.
