In this Head of Operations job opportunity youll join the Senior Leadership team of a well established medium to large sign company based on the South coast of England. This new role is critical to the businesss succession plan. Starting as the Head of Operations / Operations Director Designate you will work closely with the current Operations Director and be groomed to take over their role so they can take over from the Managing Director enabling the MD to step away from the day-to-day management of the business. This is a great career opportunity with unlimited potential if you have sound technical knowledge and experience of hard signage and either live close or would relocate to the south coast.

Established for c.25 years the business has enjoyed sustainable growth by providing exceptional quality of products and services to develop creative solutions that deliver to their clients signage graphics and environmental branding needs.

Today the sign company work throughout the UK Europe and further afield and turnover c.8m.

Perhaps more importantly the business has been well run and is financially secure which can be demonstrated by their company accounts.

This signage Head of Operations job opportunity is part of the companys succession planning to enable the Founder / Managing Director to take more of a backseat in the day-to-day running of the business.

Initially you will join the senior leadership team and work closely with the current Operations Director and MD.

Once fully embedded into the business the incumbent Operations Director will take over from the Managing Director and as the Head of Operations you will take over the role of Operations Director.

Head of Operations job role & responsibilities

At its core the Head of Operations / Operations Director Designate job role is to galvanise the whole team. Making sure every department is aligned and pushing in the same direction. It is an ever evolving role with new work and clients coming on board all the time. and as a result can create varied new challenges.

The Head of Operations responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic support to the Senior Leadership team aiding the development and execution of the businesss strategy and decision making
  
• Oversee and manage all operational functions of the business including Projects Estimating Surveying Production Installation teams etc
  
• Support guide and mentor staff members fostering a culture of collaboration and performance Managing the direct reports / departmental managers and supporting the departmental managers with areas such as team appraisals disciplinary action etc
  
• Serve as the central point for information flow ensuring the MD is well informed and that strategic messages are effectively communicated to and adopted by all staff members
  

About you

To be considered for this signage Head of Operations job opportunity you will need:

• To live or relocate to a commutable distance to the factory and head office on the south coast
  
• Possess sound technical knowledge and understanding of signage production and installation methods
  
• Be well organised able to multi-task and be commercially astute
  
• Good written and oral communication skills
  
• Right to work in the UK
