SUMMARY
The Events and Corporate Relations Manager directs events for the addition this position assists the FVCC Presidents office and Foundation Executive Director with other events in community and on campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Acts as an ambassador for the College and builds positive relationships to support and promote the College Foundation.
  • Directs and manages the promotion development and organization of Foundation events to support scholarships and grants; represents the Foundation at various events.
  • Works with local businesses and organizations to secure sponsors and donations for events.
  • Creates ways for corporate partners to get involved and sponsor events in meaningful ways.
  • Works with campus partners like marketing Wachholz College Center WIEC Trades Institute and Culinary to strengthen relationships with corporate partners.
  • Manages ticket sales and event reservations for the Foundation.
  • Organizes mailings for events including invitations publications and promotional materials.
  • Oversees the creation and distribution of both digital and print appeals.
  • Leads the Whitefish Community Foundation Great Fish Campaign.
  • Manages and guides volunteers for Foundation events including The Event at Rebecca Farm Bibler Gardens Governors Cup and other community and campus programs.
  • Provides leadership mentors and supervises staff; motivates and empowers staff to create environments that promote innovation; sets standards for delivering quality service.
  • Supervises the Student Ambassador program.
  • Collaborates with the marketing department with creation of event promotional materials
  • Helps develop a multi-year plan for organizing and managing events.
  • Promotes encourages and continuously assesses goals of events.
  • Advances the mission of FVCC by serving on or convening committees and contributing in the community in college-related activities. May chair committees such as the Events Committee.
  • Manages the events budget and financial activities in concert with the Foundation and colleges goals.
  • Helps plan and carry out capital campaigns that support major projects.
  • Stays up to date on new developments in relevant areas to support strategic initiatives.
  • Participates actively and with initiative in continuous improvement efforts to provide efficient and quality services.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in the college and community to help build strategic initiatives.
  • Participates in internal and external committees and boards.
  • Attends related trainings workshops and professional development.
  • Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff as needed.
  • Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to students faculty and the College.
  • Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Reports to the Executive Director of the Foundation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree and one year of closely related work experience; OR
  • Associates degree and three years of closely related work experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of higher education and work experience in foundation public relations marketing events or communication.
  • Valid Montana drivers license upon employment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years of event planning experience
  • Bachelors degree in public relations marketing communication public administration or closely related field.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms and digital newsletter creation and optimization.
  • Passion for higher education FVCCs mission to serve its students and the community as well as Wachholz College Centers mission to provide a cultural and performance hub for the community.
  • Ability to build working relationships and meaningfully collaborate with internal and external contacts

  • Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC.
  • Ability to intermittently work non-traditional schedules including evenings weekends etc.
