A Day in the Life

We are seeking a highly experienced Finance Director to join our team in Minneapolis Minnesota. As a Finance Director you will play a pivotal role in supporting financial operations driving performance advancing the digital FP&A strategy and leading the optimization of the FP&A forecast and planning processes. This position reports directly to the Senior Finance Director Medtronic Global FP&A and offers a unique opportunity to influence and shape financial strategies on a global scale working closely with the team and key partners across all businesses at Medtronic.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Financial Strategy & Decision Support: The role partners with the Senior Finance Director of Global FP&A and team to support financial strategies aligned with enterprise objectives. Responsibilities may include providing analysis related to employee incentive programs global currency exposure and key financial drivers such as EPS and free cash flow as well as supporting strategic decisionmaking tied to enterprise investments M&Arelated evaluations and cost optimization initiatives.

Financial Planning Analysis & Reporting: The role supports core FP&A processes including the Annual Operating Plan and forecasting ensuring outputs are accurate consistent and aligned with performance expectations. The role also supports the preparation of executivelevel financial reports analyses and presentations contributing to clear and consistent financial narratives for senior leadership.

Digital Strategy & Technology Enablement: The role supports the execution of FP&A digital and analytics initiatives aligned with Finance strategy by partnering with Reporting & Analytics and Systems teams to implement and enhance Power BI dashboards automation tools and AIenabled solutions. This includes contributing bestpractice perspectives on analytics and automation as well as helping define and track KPIs to measure adoption effectiveness and value realization of digital initiatives.

Process Optimization & Standardization: In partnership with Core AOR and OU FP&A teams the role supports efforts to streamline planning forecasting and reporting processes to improve cycle time depth of analysis and timeline alignment. Responsibilities include contributing to the standardization of methodologies and reporting structures identifying opportunities to automate manual activities and improving data accuracy timeliness and accessibility across the FP&A ecosystem.

Business Partnership & Solution Design: The role collaborates with FP&A and business stakeholders to gather requirements and help translate business needs into scalable global standard solutions in partnership with Systems and Analytics teams. The role acts as a connector across FP&A processes data and systems to support integrated and sustainable solutions aligned with enterprise strategy and financial objectives.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement: The role supports change management and continuous improvement efforts related to new tools dashboards and process enhancements. This includes contributing to communications and training activities helping build digital and analytics capability across FP&A and partnering with the Global FP&A COE and Transformation teams to identify and implement opportunities that enhance efficiency scalability and adoption.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with 10 years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 8 years) plus 7 years of managerial experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experienced in partnering with senior leaders

  • Results-oriented self-motivated organized efficient process-oriented

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform various tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Great strategic thinking problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to partner across a big organization

  • Experience operating in a complex matrixed environment and interacting across levels and organizations

  • Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis budgeting forecasting and financial modeling

  • Previous experience with PowerBI (or equivalent) dashboards automation tools and/or AI driven solutions

  • Previous experience in finance process optimization

  • Experience in the healthcare or medical device industry is a plus

  • MBA or CPA

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$169600.00 - $254400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
