The Opportunity
Help shape the member experience at Chelsea Piers.
We are seeking a warm polished and service-drivenFitness Front Desk Associate to join our team on a part-time basis (18 hours per week). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment enjoys connecting with people and takes pride in delivering outstanding hospitality.
As one of the first and last points of contact for our members you will play an important role in creating a welcoming seamless and memorable experience. From greeting members and managing check-ins to assisting with bookings for personal training massage services and club offerings you will help ensure each member leaves feeling valued and excited to return.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized personable proactive and passionate about health fitness and community.
Schedule:
18 hours per week (three 6-hour shifts):
- Mondays: 4:00 PM 10:00 PM
- Fridays: 10:00 AM 4:00 PM
- Sundays: 1:00 PM 7:00 PM
Compensation:$17 - $18 per hour based on experience
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional service aligned with Chelsea Piers hospitality standards
- Greet members and guests with warmth professionalism and enthusiasm
- Manage front desk check-ins and provide concierge-style assistance
- Schedule ancillary services such as personal training massage and other offerings
- Answer and direct phone calls with professionalism and strong phone etiquette
- Respond to member requests promptly and effectively
- Maintain knowledge of club programs services and daily events
- Support a clean organized and polished front desk environment
- Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
- Communicate effectively with teammates and departments across the facility
- Assist with special projects and operational needs as assigned by leadership
- Uphold all uniform appearance and handbook standards
Qualifications
- 6 months of customer service hospitality or related experience preferred
- Friendly professional and dependable demeanor
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for health wellness sports or fitness environments
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude with a willingness to take initiative
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
- Comfortable communicating in person by phone and via email
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software preferred
- Flexible availability including nights weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
