- Assist in the discipline of all students (all grades)
- Assist in the supervision of all security personnel for Chelsea High School
- Responsible for and supervise detention before after and during school conduct parental conferences
- Act as a liaison with certain community organizations
- Prepare for court appearances
- Conduct status hearings; serve as liaison with social services and community agencies;
- Coordinate school-based meetings with social workers guidance and deans
- Attend IST meetings if needed; facilitate parent outreach and involvement; and assist with coverage of cafeteria during lunches
- Is required to work beyond the regular school day to meet with parents individual or groups of students and staff; athletic teams
and perform other duties as directed by the Principal or Assistant Principals - Participate in weekly Dean PLC and strategic planning for school-wide student support initiatives coach teachers on behavior management strategies in support of the school-wide plan facilitate student groups to develop student skills
- Support the development and implementation of Advisory curriculum
- Coordinate student data for required reporting
- Participate on leadership team for NCLB/SIP plan development
- Coordinate andwhen necessary present appropriate grant work and/or professional development activities
- Attend and participate in leadership meetings
Qualifications Required:
- A Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment;
- Ability to work with diverse population;
- Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks curriculum instruction and assessment;
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful
- Citizenship residency or work visa required
Qualifications Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish
- Dual certification in ESL and/or Moderate Disabilities
Terms:
All teachers are members of the Chelsea Teachers Union (CTU). The length of the school day is 6.5 hours and Deans are subject to longer hour(s) with an extended day schedule. The additional hour(s) is compensated. The number of school days are 184 days. For salary information please see CPS website.
