Procurement Officer (Fixed Term)

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Companys only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified experienced and reliable Procurement Officer (Fixed Term)  to provide a cost effective efficient and timely procurement of goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.

The role will report to the Superintendent-Procurement

 Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Receive requests for quotation (RFQ) via Pronto and email endorsement.

• Analyze purchase requests send out RFQs to potential suppliers using quality viable cost-effective and strategic procurement sourcing strategies.

• Evaluate quotations submitted before committing to purchase using established procedure and in adherence to a set criterion for quality delivery price and sustainability.

• Corresponds with requisitioners and vendors concerning inquiries about merchandise/service quoted and/or ordered.

• Commit direct purchase orders under a competitive environment which maximizes commercial advantage.

• Ensure complete clear and correct data (e.g. incoterms logistics flows delivery points etc.) are conveyed during placement/issuance of purchase orders.

Qualifications :

• Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Knowledge in PRONTO Enterprise Resource Planning system.

• Experience in Procurement and Logistics principles and practices

  associated with a remote environment.

• Professional work ethics and behaviour Strong customer service focus.

• Positive and possesses a can do attitude.

• Team player trustworthy and transparent.

• Ability to perform under pressure and with sense of urgency.

• Computer literate.

• At least 3 years in a similar Role
