Job Summary
Fairmont Banff Springs is seeking an experienced and engaging Director of Rooms to lead the Rooms Division and contribute as a key member of the Hotels Executive Committee. Reporting to the Hotel Manager this role is responsible for the overall performance guest experience and leadership of Front Office (Front Desk Royal Service Concierge & VIP Services) Housekeeping Guest Services (Bell Desk & Parking) Fairmont Gold Reservations and Resort Activities.
As one of Canadas most recognized luxury resort destinations this role requires a leader who can balance operational excellence with a strong focus on delivering elevated personalized guest experiences along with contributing to the long-term strategic vision and sustainable growth of the Rooms Division aligning operational priorities with the hotels broader business objectives. The Director of Rooms will work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless and consistent guest journey while driving team engagement service excellence and financial performance.
This position is well suited to a hands-on visible leader who thrives in a complex high-volume environment and is passionate about developing teams and continuously improving the guest experience.
Job Duties Include:
Reporting to the Hotel Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and oversee all Rooms Division operations ensuring seamless delivery of luxury guest experiences across Front Office Housekeeping Guest Services Fairmont Gold Reservations and Resort Activities.
- Set and execute the strategic vision for the division fostering a high-performance culture focused on service excellence accountability and colleague engagement.
- Drive guest satisfaction and brand standards by leveraging Voice of the Guest insights service audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Revenue Management and Executive Committee to optimize financial performance including revenue growth budgeting forecasting and cost control.
- Ensure operational excellence through effective workforce planning health & safety compliance capital projects and preventative maintenance programs.
- Lead talent strategy by recruiting developing and mentoring leaders building a strong succession pipeline and strengthening overall team capability.
Qualifications :
Your Skills & Qualifications:
- 710 years of progressive leadership experience within Rooms Division operations in a luxury hotel or resort environment
- Proven experience leading multiple departments in a large high-volume property
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in revenue optimization
- Exceptional leadership communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with luxury service standards (LQA Forbes) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel systems
