Job Summary

Compensation: $52033.59

The Program Coordinator for the Transportation & Safety Studies department provides support for academic programs and/or initiatives including but not limited to Automotive Technology Aviation Maintenance Technology Criminal Justice Emergency Medical Services & Fire Science. This support includes administrative and clerical duties event management project management recruiting and program specific advising. The position involves the coordination of contracts from inception to fulfillment. The Program Coordinator supports faculty efforts in the accreditation process.

Program Coordination & Support

  • Provides administrative support to leadership in matters of partnership contract processes.

  • Processes contracts in collaboration with the Colleges legal department.

  • Answers questions and provides information to potential and current students regarding admissions PLA credit course enrollment and graduation requirements.

  • Acts as a liaison for the College to partnership organizations.

  • Maintains open communication with partner agencies.

  • Maintains regular communication with Columbus State leadership and partner agencies; creates and delivers presentations for multiple audiences.

  • Assists in maintaining departmental web pages.

  • Coordinates and schedules coverage of departmentally sponsored events (recruiting orientation advising).

  • Schedules visits with prospective students as needed.

  • Supports the Chairperson by facilitating communication with faculty.

  • Assists in building course schedule each semester once faculty has determined course offerings teaching assignments etc.

Clerical & Administrative

  • Handles various clerical tasks including maintaining proper program records updating spreadsheets billing summaries ordering supplies program registration information flyers etc.

  • Supports the day-to-day activities of the department.

  • Provides partnership agencies with contractually agreed upon information on a regular basis.

  • Maintains confidentiality of student records and maintains contracts and other sensitive subject matter.

Accreditation Support

  • Collects evaluates and reports data on departments academic programs.

  • Writes reports keeps accurate records completes and maintains required documentation including graduate surveys student success and job placement data.

  • Schedules and coordinates accreditation board visits.

Culture of Respect

  • Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect for faculty staff students and members of the community.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend all required department meetings and trainings.

  • Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity and meets tight timelines with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners.

  • Ensures College name and image is perceived positively by external as well as internal audience/stakeholders.

  • Hours may include working outside of a normal work week schedule as needed to meet program needs and workload demands.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Associates degree.

  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience working in an office setting.

  • *An appropriate combination of education training coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices.
