Job Summary

As an Engineering Manager in Platform Pillar you will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of complex multi-team projects. serve as the technical custodians of significant components within the systems infrastructure and design decisions.

Reporting to Head of Engineering and take charge of and ensure the planning and timely completion of work within their respective teams. Looking for a mature/seasoned individual who can balance and handle tech delivery challenges stakeholder management portfolio management metrics and people management.

What you will do

  • Effective collaboration with product managers designers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions prioritizing features and skillfully negotiate trade-offs between scope speed and quality.
  • Steer the planning execution and delivery of engineering projects ensuring alignment with business objectives timelines and quality standards. Allocate resources efficiently including personnel time to optimize productivity and achieve project milestones.
  • Identify potential risks and issues early in the project lifecycle develop mitigation strategies and escalate as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members facilitating their professional growth and development. Ensure adherence to best practices coding standards and architectural principles.
  • Set SMART goals frequently check-in with team members provide construct feedback. Conduct regular performance evaluations. Identify training needs and opportunities for upskilling team members.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes and workflows to enhance efficiency quality and scalability. Champion the adoption of new tools technologies and methodologies as appropriate.
  • Foster open and transparent communication within the team and across the organization ensuring clarity of goals expectations and progress updates.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term technical strategies and roadmaps in alignment with business objectives anticipating future trends and challenges.
  • Advise colleagues with valuable insights and recommendations to enhance the groups architectural health and delivery performance.

Qualifications :

  • Graduate or Post-Graduate with strong engineering background.
  • Has at least 12 years of experience driving large scale enterprise projects.
  • Proven experience in leading and motivating cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software products on schedule using Agile development practices. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product management design QA and operations to achieve common goals and deliver value to customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan organize and manage complex engineering projects with a focus on delivering results within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Proficient in Software Development Lifecycle a process that encompasses planning designing coding testing deploying and maintaining software applications ensuring a systematic and efficient approach to development.
  • Proficient in Java programming and hands-on with exposure to modern Java language features.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying root causes evaluating alternatives and implementing effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems in a distributed architecture. Proficient in system design object-oriented design design patterns & architecture principles. Expert in building performant high frequency low latency scalable and highly available applications.
  • Expert in Microservices Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) architectural approaches where software applications are composed of small independent and loosely coupled services that communicate with each other through APIs enabling flexibility scalability and modularity. Designing solutions as per the requirements Monolith/Microservices NoSQL/SQL. Synchronous vs Asynchronous.
  • APIs / Web Service Integration connecting different software systems or applications through predefined interfaces to enable seamless communication and data exchange over a network.
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment Automation & Orchestration.
  • Application Monitoring and Logging end-to-end tracing monitoring dashboards.
  • Application Performance troubleshooting and tuning systems for optimal performance.
  • Application Security the practice of safeguarding application through access control Authn & Authz data encryption secure communication using TLS/SSL and MTLS. Knowledge of SAST and DAST.
  • Software Testing to provide stakeholders with information about the quality of the software product or service under test.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in facilitating productive collaboration and resolving conflicts.
  • Skilled in building and nurturing high-performing teams fostering a culture of trust respect and accountability. Experience in recruiting hiring and retaining top talent.
  • Candidates should possess skills aligned with a product-oriented mindset and a solid understanding of customer experience.
