Special Procedures/Unit Details : Join our team of remarkable nurses in providing intermittent dialysis and support services for continuous renal replacement therapy to patients of all ages. Provide hemodialysis treatments at the bedside for patients requiring one-on-one intensive or intermediate level of care throughout University Hospital American Family Children s Hospital East Madison Hospital. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in the treatment and management of care for patients requiring hemodialysis in the inpatient setting. Generally no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week) Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays (ED allows for 1 holiday off). Floating : Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler s assignment if the primary unit no longer has a need shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract. References : please remove all references no references will be accepted Orientation Schedule : UWH orientation is held every other week typically on a Monday but not all travelers will start on a Monday even if the contract has a Monday start. This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave room F8/170 (subject to change traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter). Orientation is typically about one week. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts: Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation ventricular tachycardia asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3 rd degree heart blocks 1 incorrect answer will cause failure Passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric Exam Ventricular fibrillation ventricular tachycardia asystole and sinus bradycardia Passing score of 80% or higher Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned.
