Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Critical Care

Nemours Childrens Hospital Florida is currently seeking an Acute Care Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to work overnight in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. he 12-bed PICU at Lakeland Regional Health has all private rooms with family friendly amenities.

Nemours providers at Lakeland Regional Health have access to more than 13 pediatric subspecialties on site as well as remote access to all the Nemours pediatric subspecialists located in Orlando. The Nemours transport team provides critical care transport services to Nemours Childrens Hospital Florida for children requiring higher level care.

Key Responsibilities

• Admit patients from the Pediatric ED

• Round on patients in the PICU

• Attend trauma alerts in the Pediatric ED

• Consult with the pediatric subspecialists

• Educate nurses APPs medical students and residents

Qualifications

• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or current certification as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

• Florida Licensure as a Physician Assistant required upon hire or Florida Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse required upon hire

• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care Certification (PNP-AC) if an Advanced Practice Nurse

• BLS required upon hire from the American Heart Association

• Prior PICU experience strongly preferred

• Federal DEA registration either active or required upon hire
