Cycle Counter (Summer Student)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager the Summer Student provides support to the departments day to day operations as assigned from time to time for the summer term.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm

Contract Term: Summer coverage contract ending September 5 2026

Rate of pay: $22/hour

Role Responsibilities:

• Ensures integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory in accordance with FAMM.
• Counts all pre-designated high dollar items prepares research and reports these counts. Notifies proper personnel of problems that may occur when adjusting these items.
• Researches and corrects possible shipping problems reported to Inventory Control.
• Verify code dates and shelf life
• Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Syscos Food Safety Program specific for the assigned role.
• Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Syscos Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
• Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
• Working in a warehouse environment across different storage environments ambient cooler freezer (-18C or below)
• Perform coverage for Quality Assurance and Driver Check-In colleagues as needed
• Perform data entry filing and other clerical work
• Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards incidents and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
• Comply with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum one year of post-secondary/university
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proficient with Computers quick learner to new software
• Above average attention to details
• Excellent planning organizational communication and inter-personal skills
