Read more: Finance Director position is the senior on-site finance leader accountable for full financial stewardship of the BMS Devens Campus a complex large-scale GMP biologics and cell therapy manufacturing facility. The role carries end-to-end accountability for financial oversight strategic planning capital governance internal controls and compliance across Manufacturing Quality MS&T Facilities & Engineering Supply Chain and all associated site functions. This position serves as the primary Finance Business Partner to the Devens Site General Manager(s) and the Site Leadership Team providing strategic financial support to guide operations and drive performance. The Director leads a team of highly skilled finance and accounting professionals and represents Finance in enterprise-wide initiatives audits and transformation programs.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Act as the primary Finance Business Partner to the Devens Site General Manager and Leadership Team influencing operational and strategic decisions across business units and translating complex financial data into actionable insights that empower non-finance leaders to make patient-focused decisions.
Collaborate with PDS Finance Leadership to ensure accurate reflection of Devens financial performance in enterprise plans lead all budgeting and forecasting processes and consolidate inputs from all site functions into cohesive financial commitments aligned with BMSs planning calendar.
Provide financial leadership for major site initiatives such as capacity expansions technology transfers site consolidations productivity programs and transitions from clinical to commercial operations while developing and maintaining robust cost models for biologics and cell therapy manufacturing.
Prepare and present routine site financial performance reviews including thorough variance analysis scenario modeling sensitivity analysis and make-vs.-buy assessments to guide capacity decisions and network optimization in line with global supply chain strategy.
Lead financial risk identification variance escalation and mitigation planning; oversee site-level performance across expenses headcount inventory conversion costs capital spend; review and approve operating results to ensure accuracy compliance and proper accounting treatment.
Maintain accountability for capital governance including Capital Appropriation Request strategy approval readiness spend tracking accounting treatment project closeout and development of business cases (NPV/IRR scenario modeling sensitivity analysis) for CapEx projects.
Own the Internal Controls framework for site finance ensuring SOX compliance audit readiness continuous process improvement and support product cost-setting and inventory valuation in compliance with BMS standards and GAAP.
Lead develop and performance-manage the Devens finance organization by applying BMSs Talent Planning framework to assess develop retain finance talent and foster a culture of Inclusion and Continuous Improvement that empowers team members and drives professional growth.
Drive standardization automation and operating model improvements across finance activities including close cost management FP&A business partnership workflows and deliver financial literacy and capability building programs to enable operational managers and budget owners to make informed decisions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education of a bachelors degree in finance accounting economics or a related field is required.
Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive finance experience with demonstrated expertise in manufacturing finance including budgeting forecasting capital governance and cost management.
Proven track record of strong leadership demonstrated ability to manage develop and inspire teams of highly motivated and skilled accounting/finance professionals.
Demonstrated ability to work with and influence all levels of management including Site GMs VPs and HQ Finance leadership.
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills with comprehensive knowledge of internal controls SOX compliance and accounting policies.
Strong interpersonal communication and executive-level presentation skills; ability to interface across a broad range of disciplines and functions.
Ability to interact with and influence a broad range of disciplines including Manufacturing Quality Supply Chain Procurement and Facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and/or experience with manufacturing operations and cost accounting in a pharmaceutical biotech cell therapy or similarly complex GMP manufacturing environment
Prior experience in Global Manufacturing Operations Finance organizations.
Proficiency in SAP or similar MRP/ERP system. (SAP strongly preferred within BMS environment)
Experience with financial planning tools. (Hyperion OneStream Anaplan or equivalent)

Compensation Overview:
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job such as required skills where the job is performed the employees work schedule job-related knowledge and experience. Final individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off
US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited with manager approval 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix AZ Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
Phoenix AZ Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt Non-Exempt Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval 11 national holidays and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility* additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time up to 2 paid volunteer days per year summer hours flexibility leaves of absence for medical personal parental caregiver bereavement and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
