Description


The incumbent reports to the Educational Technology and Assessment (ETA) Director in the College of Public Health Deans Office. This Office partners with faculty and multimedia experts to deliver courses via a variety of technologies. Each year ETA provides support to more than 5000 students enrolled in online public health courses providing a collaborative environment that supports faculty and students to effectively use technology in their online courses and to positively influence their teaching and learning experience.



Responsibilities
  • Develop: -- Convert all instructional materials into digital format -- Create all visual/graphic elements -- Create multimedia print audio video content -- Create webpages CSS style sheets interfaces course banner -- Develop all procedural documentation for students and faculty -- Develop tutorials for students and faculty -- Develop content for practice questions (as needed).
  • Design:--Identify and/or rewrite objectives to include measurable performances--Design assessment/survey instruments--Design instructional strategies--Create prototypes for all new courses--Select course tools/media application software for course delivery--Design course structure media visual elements interfaces--Create instructional development plan and production schedule.
  • Implement/Deliver/Maintain: -- Upload and post all visual elements and digital content to Canvas -- Maintain course website -- Provide technical support to students and faculty -- Upload and facilitate on line objective assessments -- Test all materials to ensure integrity of course structure.
  • Analysis: Assess Student and faculty needs via survey interviews analysis -- Analyze course for instructional elements and integrity -- Ensure adequate enabling objectives to complete terminal course objectives -- Create hierarchy of tasks -- Identify leaning outcome domains (levels) for all objectives -- Create sequencing of objectives -- Identify entry behaviors and identify methods to assess these skills -- Assess current instructional strategies media selection and delivery methods.
  • Evaluation and Research:--Conduct Formative Evaluation on assessments communication technical problems process and procedures--Conduct summative evaluation on outcomes.--Research for innovative technology (hardware/software) effective use of innovative instructional elements delivery methods media selection audio/video development copyright issues--Conduct and evaluate student and course needs analysis (ongoing)--Evaluate and update college curriculum and course delivery procedures --Evaluate course assessment instruments for instructional integrity.


Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelors degree in education learning or instructional design digital media or related field with two years of experience in related positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree.
Certifications: Certified in applying quality design standards to online courses (Quality Matters OLC Scorecard etc.).
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate ( is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a masters degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
