Platform Services Operations is looking for a motivated and solution focused hand-on Senior Database Administrator to join us to boost effectiveness and accelerate delivery flow. Based in Manassas VA you will be working alongside a dynamic team of Oracle DBA experts. Your team is fully responsible for the design optimization and operations of the database environment. This DevOps team engages in the product evolution; covering software architecture development quality assurance security operations and IT infrastructure aspects.

You will work in a truly international environment with main hubs across three continents. We have global reach and impact but operate fast as we are a relatively small company.

What to expect in this role:

• Organize and control day-to-day database administration/ management activities to include:Database health data collection and analysis database access and performance analysis.

• Resolve complex problems by investigating and devising solutions for database operations. May include installations configuration tuning and maintenance of database management.

• Interact with network services database/software systems engineering and /or applications development in order to restore availability of services and/or identify root cause of complex problems.

• Define and implement recommendations for complex issues in the area of database management systems.

Technical skills & knowledge

• Requires 5-7 years of experience in a technical operational support area
• Experience working with the following:
  • Worked on Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 12.1 12.2 and 19c. Partitioning and multi-tenancy options
  • Exadata engineered systems and DBs hosted on RHEL systems
  • DataGuard for Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • GoldenGate for data replication
  • Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
  • Database Vault for stricter access control
  • Advanced analytics including Oracle R
• Knowledge of any of these CICD technology:Jenkins Ansible Docker
• Good knowledge of IT security mainly in the DBA area

Education

University degree in computer science or related field.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Manassas is $101303.00 to $188135 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location.
