Playgroup Australia is the National Peak Body representing member organisations that deliver playgroups. We promote the work of Playgroups advocate for greater investment in playgroup programs and manage government contracts.
About the Role
Were looking for an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the compliance reporting and relationship management of our government contracts. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret and translate performance data into formats to monitor and communicate our impact.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with key stakeholders and can translate complex contractual requirements into clear operational actions.
Reporting to the CEO this is a fixed term contract role for up to 12 months. The hours and days of work are flexible as is the successful candidates geographical location. The job is primarily working from home. Excellent phone and internet connectivity is essential.
What youll be doing
- Ensuring full compliance with contract requirements regulations and internal governance frameworks.
- Excellent organisational skills including managing all contract reporting including performance updates KPI tracking and relevant audit documentation.
- Acting as the primary liaison with external and internal stakeholders.
- Leading contract review meetings issue resolution and performance discussions.
- Maintaining accurate contract documentation with strong attention to detail contract variations and correspondence with stakeholders.
- Identifying risks monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
- Identifying suitable grants for ongoing contracts.
What youll bring
- Experience managing government and / or regulated contracts.
- Strong understanding of compliance obligations and reporting requirements.
- Grant writing skills
- Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capability.
- Ability to work collaboratively across operations finance legal and executive teams.
- Competent use of the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets.

While our head office is based in the ACT and occasional travel may be required the position can be located anywhere in Australia.
Specific hours of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate though at this stage we anticipate 20 to 25 hours per week over 4 to 5 weekdays. Indicative remuneration is $110kpa superannuation (full-time equivalent).
