• Gross salary range of $120k to $130K per annum superannuation

About the role:

The Senior Financial Accountant is a key contributor to theCitys financial leadership responsible for delivering accuratehigh quality financial reporting and guiding the development of theannual budget. This role oversees the preparation of statutoryfinancial statements takes a lead role in audit coordination andsafeguards the integrity of the Citys accounting systems.

What youll bring to the role:

The ideal candidate will align with the Citys Values and beable to demonstrate the below competencies:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in accounting and ideally membership of or progression towards a professional body.
• Substantial experience in a senior financial / management accountant position preferably in Local Government.
• Highly developed knowledge of Accounting Standards and concepts.
• Understanding of the Local Government Act and associated Financial Management Regulations.
• Significant experience with large ERP or financial systems such as Technology One.
• Demonstrated experience or ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management in development of budgets and various financial reporting tasks.
• Experience in staff supervision/guidance.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pre-employment requirements:

• Current C Class Drivers Licence.
• National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
• Proof of right to work in Australia.
• Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City).
