The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a Real Time Trader I.

This job includes buying and selling energy starting and stopping utility generators and maximizing the value of long-term contracts.
Examples of duties and responsibilities:
- Negotiate and implement power sales purchases and exchange of power and transmission products.
- Calculate estimate and resolve on a real time basis the requirements for power interchange to meet EWEB and client utility sales system load and generation requirements.
- Conduct financial modeling and risk assessment.
- Effectively communicate with customers and representatives of other utilities.
- And work independently in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts including nights evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of and direct experience in:
- Power negotiation sales and purchases
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs including the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong time management skills
- Foundational understanding of current marketplace power pricing and supply conditions and real-time trading practices.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $103051 - $124158
The starting pay offered will be established based on multiple factors including the successful candidates job-related knowledge skills education and relevant experience as well as internal equity. Consistent with EWEBs compensation philosophy it is not customary to place individuals at the high end of the salary range at the time of hire. Compensation decisions are made holistically to support fair consistent and equitable pay practices taking into account the specific circumstances of each position and candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Equivalency: EWEB will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience when reviewing applications. Candidates who do not meet all of the minimum qualifications but whose application materials demonstrate the necessary knowledge skills and abilities to be successful in the position are encouraged to apply. Experience: Minimum of two years experience in power resources or utility operations that includes experience in one or more of the following areas: risk management utility industry operating requirements financial analysis and/or customer contact.
Education: Associates degree in business management Accounting Finance Marketing Economics or Engineering; an equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
