Summary
The Marketing & Promotions Coordinator supports the mission of The Museum of Flight by supporting the development of Museum marketing and communications activities and material. This position provides support and coordination for both onsite and offsite marketing activities including tracking trafficking and documenting projects within the department; assisting with media inquiries assisting with content copywriting for social media and editing various collateral.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Coordinate a variety of marketing and promotional activities for both onsite and offsite events.
- Assist with the creation and dissemination of media communications including but not limited to updating Museum social media accounts posting information and updates on web calendars and blogs and creating and distributing e-mail communication.
- Assist with tracking department projects and acting as project liaison between Marketing and other Museum departments.
- Assist the Marketing team with ensuring Museum-wide compliance with brand standards.
- Provide support for video shoots photography shoots and media visits.
- May act as a liaison with external media agencies.
- May assist in the completion of internal process documents such as Project Request forms and Creative Briefs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- A degree in marketing communications public relations or a related field is preferred or commensurate knowledge of the subject.
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in marketing press and public relations or other related field required. Experience in a public attraction tourism museum or similar venue or environment preferred.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing content marketing and social media marketing.
- Familiarity with the development of metrics and measures of success for press initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite desired.
- Familiarity with basic web editing.
Skills
- Strong writing editing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office/365.
- Video editing skills a plus.
Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated taking initiative and finishing tasks to achieve goals.
- Proven ability to not only work independently but also adapt to work with a team in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with large diverse groups in both positive and negative situations.

- Schedule is set by the supervisor with flexibility for evening and variable hours based on Museum need.
- Some local travel is expected.

- On-site attendance is essential to perform some the duties of this position.
- Works in a normal office environment including prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive wrist and arm movement.
- The ability to focus bend carry reach to the side front and overhead push pull walk stand twist and squat grab squeeze are repetitive physical requirements of this position.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally required to stay stationary or move for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to move through physical Museum campus spaces; occasionally outdoors in variable weather.

Paid-Time Off
Our paid time-off plans include 2 weeks of accrued sick leave and 2 weeks of vacation (80 hours each) per year 10 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays.
Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $22.04to $30.00depending on experience.
Should you receive an offer please expect that it can fall anywhere within this range. A multitude of factors will determine a fair salary based on the following: scope of role within the organization years of relevant experience specific skills and evaluation of capability to execute in role successfully (among other critical factors).
