Job Summary
SCHEDULE: Friday to Tuesday 11 PM to 7 AM.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Residential Counselor Youth I/DD provides therapeutic residential support to youths with Intellectual and Developmental disabilities. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities and provide behavioral support in a group home setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Orients newly admitted clients
- Plans leads and supervises client activities
- Provides positive behavioral supports on a daily basis
- Provides direct supervision in a group home setting
- Provides input into assessments conferences and treatment planning
- Facilitates community integration through focused recreational activities
- Provides pre-vocational skills training as indicated based on client needs
- Collects and records data and completes all required documentation
- Provides transportation as needed and accompanies clients to and from appointments
- Responsible for ensuring a safe therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards Federal and State regulations and corporate policies
EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE SKILL & ABILITY:
- High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working with I/DD individuals in a group setting OR
- Associates or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a field unrelated to social work/psychology and six (6) months experience working with I/DD individuals in a group setting OR
- Associates or Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in social work psychology or related field
- Valid unrestricted drivers license with a clean driving record
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to demonstrate respect for children/adolescents and their families
- $20.16to $21.45per hour based on experience and education.
